VETUS batteries are designed with the different seasonal requirements in mind. During the winter months, the battery is usually not in use, which is why the batteries have minimal self-discharge and you can rely on the engine starting again next season. We recommend using a charger with maintenance charging during winter storage.
During a boating season, the battery must also meet various requirements. It must be able to handle both small but constant loads as well as short, heavy loads, for example when using a bow thruster.

• VRLA sealed and maintenance-free (contains no free electrolytes)
• The electrolytes are absorbed by glass fibre mats between the battery plates
• Leak-proof, even if the battery has been dropped and the housing is damaged
