The Victron Battery Protect BP-220 (MPN BPR0000220400) separates the battery from the less important consumers before it is fully unloaded (which would be damaged) or before it no longer has enough energy to start the engine, etc. In addition, the BP series via an overvoltage protection that switches off the load at 16V or 32V battery voltage and preserves from damage. The BP supports AGM, lead acid, gel and lithium batteries.

There are different counter -stone shells for most switch -offs that can be chosen. This device is the perfect protective device for your battery and thus ensures a maximum lifetime, because most voltage converters or charge controllers have an undervoltage protection, but this only applies at quite low values that are usually in the range of 10.5V / 21V . The higher this switch -off threshold, the longer you will enjoy your batteries, which are usually pretty cost -intensive.

Exit for delayed alarm The alarm output is activated when the battery voltage falls for more than 12 seconds below the preset value for switching off. Switching on the engine therefore does not activate the alarm. The alarm output is a short-circuit-protected open collector output, which is connected to the negative (minus) rail. Max. Strom 50 mA. The alarm output is usually used to activate an acoustic signal, LED or a relay.
Load shutdown and reelnation delay The load is switched off 90 seconds after activating the alarm. If the battery voltage rises again within this period (after the engine has started, for example) to the threshold value for connecting, the load is not switched off.
Note deeper loading:
When using the Battery Protect in conjunction with voltage converters, problems with the re -switching function may occur. Larger voltage converter models (> 1500W) can need a very high capacitor current while switching on, which may put the BP into error mode. This can be avoided with a short turn of the voltage converter.
The protective function of the BP remains.
