NMEA 2000 has become the de facto network standard in marine electronics. Using a drop cable, each device to be integrated is connected to a so-called backbone (main cable). This is then terminated at both ends with a resistor or connected with another connector. Special NMEA20000 connectors are joined to the cables in a waterproof manner to ensure maximum reliability and enable simple plug-and-play installation.
The new NMEA2000 Starter Kit from Digital Yacht has everything you need to set up a small NMEA 2000 network on board, for example with a chartplotter, AIS and autopilot. It consists of a power cable, terminators, a 1m drop cable and a unique 6-way connector that forms the backbone. At both ends, you can fit terminating resistors or connect multiple starter kits together to create a larger network.
Our connectors are made of high-quality nickel-plated metal, because we do not use cheaper plastic connectors like other manufacturers. With our NMEA2000 Starter Kit, both beginners and professionals can quickly build a reliable, safe and compact network. This makes it easy and cost-effective to network modern boat electronics.
The connection system is suitable for all common brands. If required, it can be expanded with standard components.
