LeTonkinois Vernis
The varnish is easy to apply and very economical.
Coverage: average 20 m² per litre per coat. The substrate must be finely sanded, clean, dry, dust-free and grease-free. Application temperature not below 12 °C. Thin the first coat with 5% « LE TONKINOIS » thinner; for spray applications, thin with 5–10%. Please use natural bristle or natural hair brushes to support the good flow of the varnish and achieve a very smooth varnish surface. For larger areas, we recommend a high-quality short-pile roller. Allow a drying time of at least 24 hours between coats.
Surface dry after approx. 6 h, recoatable after approx. 24 h, fully loadable: after approx. 7 days.
For the best surface results, greater smoothness and adhesion between coats, carry out intermediate sanding with 180-grit abrasive. For good weather protection, at least 4 coats of varnish are recommended. For long-lasting protection, such as on boats, we recommend up to 8 coats of Vernis « LE TONKINOIS ». The gloss level can be adjusted by adding « LE TONKINOIS » GELOMAT to the last two applied coats.
Tool cleaning: immediately after use with « LE TONKINOIS » thinner.
Ingredients: Binder based on linseed oil, tung oil and natural resins. Limit value for this product (Cat A/e): 400 g/l 2010. This product contains max. 400 g/l VOC. Saliva- and perspiration-resistant according to DIN EN ISO 105-A03. Tested according to DIN EN 71-3:2019-08, suitable for children's toys.
