Features:
With the new RC10 windlass, Maxwell continues the successful path established with the fully automatic rope/chain anchor windlasses in the Freedom, Liberty and HRC series.
The brand-new, fully automatic RC10 windlass series is designed to effortlessly pay out and retrieve short-link chain in 10 mm (3/8”) size, as well as 3-strand or 8-plait rope with a diameter of 16 mm (5/8”).
Available as a smooth low-profile version or as a “Max-Grip” drum version to meet the individual needs of the user.
The simple two-part installation saves time and money and allows easy retrofitting without having to dismantle the windlass. The innovative deck pass-through design allows installation with almost any deck thickness and enables a wide variety of mounting positions. The self-aligning gearbox housing allows optimal positioning of the motor and gearbox in almost any installation situation.
Complete removal of the top section is possible using the supplied handle, a screwdriver and a hex key. No special tools are required.
The RC10 is durably manufactured from chrome-plated marine bronze. The robust stainless steel pressure arm, in combination with the excellent rope/chain gypsy, is designed to allow the transition from chain to rope to pass through efficiently. This gives the RC10 a level of performance that is otherwise unmatched.
In combination with a longer, solid, large-diameter cable and the preloaded stainless steel spring, the pressure arm always applies maximum control pressure (maintenance-free brass bearing).
The RC10 also works just as effectively in all-chain systems. This also makes it suitable for users who prefer a low-profile windlass with elegant design on the foredeck.
Very large hawse pipes ensure that the anchor rope or anchor chain can easily pass into and out of the chain locker.
The cone clutch/brake mechanism allows manual “free-fall” anchoring.
The sealed oil bath and the gearbox housing made of hard-anodized marine alloy, together with the precision worm gear, provide a solid drive mechanism.
