The Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-120A battery coupler from Victron Energy (MPN CYR010120450) füfor 12V and 24V LiFePO4 batteries. It can work with a maximum current of 120A and is an ideal addition to the VE.Bus BMS as a battery switch for loads that the VE.Bus BMS cannot switch independently.
Function of the Cyrix battery coupler in general
The Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V-120A is a high performance microprocessor-controlled;The Cyrix-Li-Load is a high performance microprocessor controlled relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when one of them reaches a predetermined voltage level (indicating that the battery is charging) and disconnects the batteries when the voltage drops below the float voltage level (indicating that one or both batteries are discharging). Cyrix battery couplers are ideal for replacing isolating diodes. Their main feature is that there is virtually no voltage loss, so that the output voltage of the alternators or battery chargers does not need to be increased.
How the Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V 120A works
The Cyrix-Li-Load 12/24V 120A switches off when its control input reaches the "free floating " (open circuit) state. When the battery voltage recovers after switching off (this happens when no other loads are connected to the battery), the output of the BMS goes high and the Cyrix switches on again after 30 seconds. After 3 attempts to switch on, the Cyrix remains switched off until the voltage has risen to over 13 V (or 26 V or 52 V) for at least 30 seconds (this is an indication that the battery is being recharged).

Cyrix-Li-Load as the perfect complement to the VE.Bus BMS
The VE.Bus BMS is a central core element of the protective measures for Victron LiFePO4 batteries. However, not all loads or chargers can be controlled directly via the VE.Bus BMS. To switch off such loads or chargers, several VE.Bus BMS controllable Cyrix switches are available.
