Adaptive 4-stage charging algorithm

With lead batteries, it is crucial to keep the constant voltage phase short during shallow discharges in order to avoid overcharging the battery. However, after a deep discharge, the constant voltage phase is automatically extended to ensure that the battery is fully charged. The Orion XS offers you fully programmable charging algorithms and eight pre-programmed battery settings. This ensures that your battery is always charged optimally and efficiently, adapted to your specific needs.

Configurable charging

Input and output currents and voltages can be precisely adjusted using user-friendly controls. This prevents overloading of the alternators and ensures that 12V or 24V supply batteries are charged correctly, especially when using intelligent alternators.

Intelligent alternator compatibility

The Orion XS is equipped with intelligent engine run detection, which ensures that the charger only draws current when the engine is running. This contributes to the efficient use and protection of your battery. In addition, the Orion XS helps to utilize the optimal charging current of intelligent alternators, such as those used in Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines. Switch-off at low temperature

The charger ensures optimum protection of your lithium batteries by automatically switching off at low temperatures. It also deactivates itself if the input voltage falls below a limit value set by you, thus preventing deep discharge of the starter battery. Comprehensive electronic protection

The protection functions include overload, short circuit and overtemperature. The charger is protected against overheating by reducing the output power when the maximum device temperature is reached. The MIDI-FUSE fuse holder of Victron Energy (MPN CIP000050001) with a lid is used to secure DC MIDI-Fuse patrol fuses. The housing offers solid protection of the fuse. Midi-Fuse fuses include the patrol fuses and are screwed to the holder. Corresponding nuts and sprinkling rings are already pre -assembled on the holder.
