The thermostat-controlled cooling units are based on a Danfoss compressor that cools a capacitor in the cooling or freezer box. Danfoss compressors are very efficient. Hermetically sealed, they work in a mixture of oil and coolant, which contributes to very calm running behavior and very little wear. Like all efficient electrical devices, the compressors used by Indel Webasto Marine work with a 3-phase system. The 3-phase voltage is generated in a small microprocessor. For tropical conditions, we recommend reducing the pit volume by 10 - 20%.
Indel Webasto Marine has succeeded in integrating different functions that control and monitor the device. This allows low power consumption. The same processor is used in the 12 V and 24 V systems and is protected against unwanted reversal. A air is guided by the capacitor using a fan. This is the traditional type of cooling. It must be ensured that cold air can be added from below and warm air can escape upwards.
