It has an extended battery life of 36 hours and a powerful SOS flash function. With its robust construction and numerous mounting options, the FastFind CREW1 is designed for crew survivability. How FastFind CREW1 works

CREW1 is activated in an emergency crew recovery situation
An alert is sent to all AIS receivers and AIS enabled chartplotters within a 4 mile radius (typical).
An AIS-SART warning icon (image) marks the location of survivors•Precise target survivability information, including GPS position, is displayed when the chartplotter* cursor is placed over the icon.
Providing the exact location, distance and bearing to locate the person(s) in need
Not all small ship chartplotters with AIS will display the IMO recommended icon. At least they display the same icon used for other ships - usually an arrow. In addition, in the user settings you can configure the display to show the TX ID number, which always starts with 972 for Crew1. This is a way to distinguish the CREW1 from other ships. All new ECDIS plotters (on ships over 300 tons) should show the symbol correctly.

*For use with AIS-enabled plotters, please contact your plotter manufacturer for more information.

Installation and Activation

The FastFind CREW1 comes standard with a clip to attach the device to the lifejacket harness and an alternative clip to attach to the lifejacket mouth hose. This clip can be attached to either side of the leadpipe.

Activation can be done either manually or by activating the water sensor. Manual activation involves peeling off the red antenna cap to release the antenna and then peeling off the activation tab. The device will start sending alerts immediately. When activated by the water sensor, you must pull off the red antenna cap to reveal the antenna. When the water sensor embedded at the bottom of the device is immersed in water for more than 3 seconds, the device will wake up and start transmitting.
