*Make sure the antenna is pointing toward the sky and not into the water. The PLB will not function when submerged in water. Although the device is waterproof, it must remain above the water surface to function properly. Intended operating environments include on the ground, above ground, and handheld use. In all cases, the PLB must be oriented with the antenna pointing vertically upward.
