ACR SOLAS/MED LED Lifebuoy Light SM-3
The SM-3 SOLAS lifebuoy light, with a minimum light intensity of 3 candela throughout its entire service life, marks the location where the crew member has gone overboard with every flashing light pulse. It automatically rights itself and activates when in the water, so a crew member in distress never has to worry about activation. The SM-3 is powered by 2 user-replaceable AA lithium batteries, allowing a longer service life than many disposable lifebuoy lights on the market.

The included bracket holds the SM-3 securely even under the harshest conditions, while still being easily accessible when needed in an emergency. Although the SM-3 and its bracket are significantly smaller than the SM-2, the SM-3 bracket has the same hole pattern as the SM-2, allowing easy retrofitting without an additional adapter plate.

The SM-3 is approved by USCG/MED/SOLAS for worldwide use. This durable LED marker light is therefore an excellent option for vessels that must meet USCG and SOLAS requirements for self-igniting lifebuoy lights. According to USCG and SOLAS requirements for passenger and cargo ships, at least half of all lifebuoys on board must be equipped with a self-igniting light. The minimum carriage requirements depend on the length of the vessel and can range from at least four to at least fifteen lifebuoys with self-igniting lights per vessel.

The rugged construction results in greater flexibility in use. While SOLAS approval only requires a drop test from a height of 30 metres, the SM-3 has been tested up to a height of 76 metres. This makes the SM-3 a versatile option for use on a wide variety of platforms or vessels of different sizes.

With its easily replaceable lithium AA battery, the SM-3 is ready for use for years whenever it is needed.
