veKonvert is a new NMEA 2000 interface developed in collaboration with Victron Energy to integrate VE.Direct-compatible devices, such as SmartShunt and BMV battery monitors as well as MPPT solar charge controllers, into NMEA 2000 systems.
This functionality already existed, but required the use of a highly advanced Cerbo module. veKonvert is a cheaper and simpler solution for smaller installations that only want to display electrical data on a multifunction display (MFD).
NOTE – veKonvert is not compatible with Victron chargers and inverters. It should also not be connected to the VE.Direct interfaces of Victron inverter/chargers such as Multiplus, Quattro, Cerbo, etc.
Installation is simple: Connect the device to a “T” connector on the NMEA 2000 network and to the device’s custom VE.Direct connection, and you will instantly have electrical data on your NMEA 2000 network.
As sailors prefer a clear and uncluttered instrument panel, integrating electrical data into the main chartplotter is a popular option that saves space and cost.
This product is the result of a collaboration between Victron Energy and Digital Yacht. The system uses Victron’s proprietary VE.Direct data connectivity as the source for NMEA 2000 data.
Victron solar charge controllers (MPPT) and battery monitors can also be connected to the NMEA 2000 network via the veKonvert interface.
Features:
Universal NMEA 2000 gateway for Victron products with VE.Direct interface (see compatibility list).
Enables battery management or solar charging monitoring on compatible chartplotters (Raymarine, Garmin, Navico, Furuno, etc.).
Provides battery voltage, charge/discharge current, state of charge, and time to battery depletion thanks to an intelligent algorithm.
Easy installation, plug-and-play connectivity, and self-powered via the NMEA 2000 bus.
Generates NMEA 2000 alerts from any BMV or SmartShunt.
Supports multiple SmartShunts for multi-battery systems.
