The Master Volt (83007030) BI 703 Battery separation diode is based on conventional diode technology. The separation diode is suitable for use in conventional systems with a alternator and a battery charger as well as 2 or 3 battery circles. The sloping diode voltage (approx. 0.6 V) can be compensated for by adapting the output voltage of the connected charger or generator. Master volt battery chargers and alpha per MB alternator controller are equipped with an automatic voltage drop compensation by default.
Master volt separation diodes are used to distribute the charging current between several batteries of the same nominal voltage. The use of a separation diode ensures that the battery rates do not unload each other. Master volt separation diodes are only suitable for assembly between the plus output of a power pathogen (charger or alternator) and the plus connection of the battery rates. The minus output of the power pathogo and the minus connections of the battery rates must be connected directly to each other. Separation diodes cannot be used in a system with a combined loader/converter.
