NMEA 0183 Buffer - PRO-BUF-2
2 OPTO-isolated NMEA 0183 inputs (Listener), 12 ISO-Drive NMEA 0183 outputs (Talker), serial port, Ethernet port
The PRO-BUF-2, an intelligent type-approved NMEA buffer. Two OPTO-isolated inputs and twelve ISO-Drive™-isolated outputs. Provides device protection and outstanding flexibility in one product.

The PRO-BUF-2 is robust, features a stainless steel housing, and provides isolation on all inputs and outputs. With two NMEA 0183 inputs, twelve NMEA 0183 outputs, one bidirectional serial port, and one Ethernet port, the PRO-BUF-2 is a perfect solution for larger leisure craft, commercial shipping, and a great addition for systems requiring type-approved equipment.

The PRO-BUF-2 was designed for most NMEA 0183 systems and is ready to use immediately by simply hardwiring the dual-mode inputs as required.

The manually configurable basic operating modes of the intelligent NMEA 0183 buffer include variations of buffer modes, intelligent automatic switching, and combination modes.

For all other configurations, the 'User Configuration Mode' is selected when the mode inputs are left unconnected. The web-based configuration tool allows full customization of the PRO-BUF-2 and is compatible with all common operating systems. Using the web-based configuration tool allows fine-tuning of the data available at each output.

For quick and easy installation, the PROBUF-2 features 2-part plug-in connectors that allow the use of screw terminals* and a professional DIN rail mounting system (DIN rail not included). The unit can also be mounted directly on a bulkhead.

Helpful LEDs indicate power, data input, data output, and alarm status to support diagnostics.
Data statistics and load indication via the web tool provide a real-time view of the data.

Features:
- 2 opto-isolated inputs
- 12 ISO-Drive NMEA 0183 outputs
- Ethernet connection
- Flexible operating modes
- Automatic baud rate matching on the inputs
- Alarm output options
- Web-based configuration tool
- Diagnostic LEDs
- Advanced data filtering and routing
- 2 virtual autoswitch modules
- Data statistics and load indication via web tool
- Designed for 12 / 24 Volt supply
- Future-proof thanks to easily updatable firmware
- 2-part connector system
- Stainless steel housing with DIN rail mounting option
- Type-approved

Benefits:
- Flexible configuration options for buffering, autoswitching, or combining NMEA data
- ISO-Drive isolates the Listener from the Talker to protect both the PRO-BUF and any connected device.
- Fast bidirectional data connection to monitoring and control software applications
- PRO-BUF can be configured with any web browser on any operating system
- Works out of the box without configuration for basic installations, or can be easily configured by the user as required
- The relay output is compatible with integrated alarm systems and NMEA alarm sentences can be displayed and triggered on an MFD
- Easy access over the network, no need to relocate the device or use a serial connection to a PC.
- A quick visual check gives the user confidence that every input and output is forwarding data
- Functions can be used to fine-tune data to avoid data overload on outputs and connected Listeners
- Enables automatic data priority selection between two devices of the same data type (e.g. GPS)
- Displays NMEA 0183 on each I/O port and how often it arrives, ideal for low-level diagnostics
- Enables use in 24 V DC power supply systems for large vessels
- Additional features in future firmware revisions can be accessed with a simple update process via the Actisense Toolkit over Ethernet
- Fast installations and supports both screw and screwless terminal types. Ideal for quick diagnostic replacement
- Increased durability, easy installation, and high performance
- Can be installed on vessels subject to Class Society rules
