The Victron 48/375 230V VE.Direct IEC inverter (MPN: PIN481371110) is a pure sine wave inverter designed to power compatible 230 V loads from a 48 V battery system. It delivers 375 W of continuous power at 25 °C, achieves a short-term peak power of 600 W, and combines an IEC-320 output with VE.Direct communication, a configurable ECO mode, and a connection for remote control.
Key Benefits
375 W continuous power at 25 °C and 300 W at 40 °C
600 W peak power for up to 2 seconds
230 V output via IEC-320 connector
VE.Direct for monitoring and configuration
Adjustable ECO mode with 2 W idle power consumption
Configurable shutdown, restart, and alarm thresholds
Remote on/off connection for external control or BMS integration
Power for smaller 230 V loads
The inverter converts the DC voltage from a 48 V battery bank into 230 V AC voltage. At 25 °C, 375 W is continuously available. For increased power demands, the unit delivers 450 W for up to 10 seconds and 600 W for a maximum of 2 seconds. Before selection, the continuous power and inrush current of the connected load must be checked. Motors, pumps, power tools, and certain power supplies in particular may require high or prolonged inrush power.
VE.Direct, VictronConnect, and Remote Control
The VE.Direct interface allows you to monitor battery voltage, output voltage, load, as well as warnings and alarms. In addition, you can adjust the output voltage, frequency, ECO settings, and the thresholds for shutdown and restart in the event of low battery voltage. A separately available VE.Direct-to-USB interface is required to connect to a computer. Wireless use of VictronConnect on a smartphone or tablet requires the optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle, as the inverter does not have built-in Bluetooth. The remote control port also allows the device to be controlled via an external switch, a suitable control panel, or a compatible battery management system.
Reduced Power Consumption in ECO Mode
In normal idle mode, the 48 V model consumes 9 W. In ECO mode, this value is reduced to 2 W. If the connected load falls below the set threshold, the inverter switches to standby mode and checks at set intervals whether a load is active again. The load threshold and check interval can be adjusted to suit the specific application. For loads with very low power consumption or short activation pulses, individual configuration may be required.
Installation and System Boundaries
The IEC-320 output differs from a Schuko outlet. For loads with a grounded plug, a suitable, professionally installed connection cable is required. The AC output must not be connected to a household outlet, a generator, or any other AC power source. The inverter does not include a battery charger, a solar charge controller, or an automatic transfer switch. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician. The enclosure must be grounded. Depending on the electrical system in place, the neutral-to-ground connection and the use of a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) must also be properly configured. The unit requires a dry, well-ventilated environment and approximately 10 cm of free space for air circulation.
