The insulated Victron Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC Charging Booster 12/48-8A is a powerful, adaptive 3-stage charger specially developed for use in dual battery systems in vehicles and boats. With integrated Bluetooth, it allows you to easily monitor and program the charger. Ideal for systems with 12V input voltage, it is suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. The Orion-Tr Smart ensures that the service battery is charged precisely, even if the alternator supplies too low a voltage while driving. The device automatically detects when the engine is running and thus protects the starter battery from discharging. With its robust design, the charging booster can easily cope with high temperatures of up to 55°C and offers full power up to an ambient temperature of 40°C. You can connect several devices in parallel to increase the charging power. Thanks to the adaptive charging algorithm, the Orion-Tr Smart ensures that your batteries are fully charged quickly and gently without overcharging.

Adaptive 3-stage charging algorithm: constant current -constant voltage -conservation

With lead batteries, it is crucial to keep the charging time short during shallow discharges. This prevents overcharging and significantly extends the service life of the battery. After a deep discharge, the duration of the constant voltage phase is automatically adjusted to ensure complete and safe charging. Lithium batteries offer a particularly user-friendly solution: the charging time is fixed at 2 hours. This guarantees optimum charging without additional adjustments. Alternatively, there is the option of selecting a fixed output voltage, which further simplifies the charging process. This ensures that your battery always remains powerful and reliable.

Remote on/off switch

The two-pin plug offers you versatile connection options. You can either integrate a remote-controlled on/off switch or a relay contact. Alternatively, the right-hand connection (H) can be connected to the positive terminal of the battery, while the left-hand connection (L) can be connected either to the negative terminal of the battery or to the vehicle body. This flexibility enables simple and individual installation that is precisely tailored to your needs.
