Victron Battery Charger Skylla-i for 24V Batteries

One output with full rated power and one auxiliary charging output with 4 A are available. The charging voltage can be adjusted precisely to suit any battery system.
The charger input is 230 V at 50/60 HZ. The charging voltage can be measured directly at the battery terminals to compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance. An external sensor enables measurement of the battery temperature and corresponding compensation of the charging voltage.

Less maintenance and ageing during battery idle periods: Storage mode
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has occurred within 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is then reduced to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for a 24 V battery) in order to minimize gassing and corrosion at the positive plates.
Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the constant-voltage threshold to 'refresh' the battery. This achieves a kind of equalization charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation - the two main causes of premature battery failure.

Robust
The epoxy powder-coated aluminium housing with drip protection and stainless steel brackets withstands even the harshest environmental conditions: heat, humidity and salty air. An acrylic coating provides maximum protection for the circuit boards against corrosion.
Temperature sensors ensure that the power components are always operated within the specified limits. Under extreme environmental conditions, the output current is automatically reduced if necessary.

Preventing damage caused by excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode
To shorten charging time, the highest possible charging current is combined with a high constant voltage. However, to avoid excessive gassing towards the end of the constant-current phase, the Skylla-i limits the rate of voltage increase after the gassing voltage has been reached.

Suitable for lithium-ion batteries (LiFePo4)
A simple on/off control can be implemented by connecting a relay or an open-collector optocoupler output from a Li-Ion BMS to the charger's remote control connection.
Alternatively, voltage and current can be fully controlled by establishing a connection to the galvanically isolated CAN bus connection.

Two outputs for charging two batteries
The chargers have two isolated outputs. The second output is intended for charging a starter battery. It has a slightly lower output voltage and is limited to 4 A.

Battery voltage sensor
To compensate for voltage losses caused by cable resistance, the Skylla-i has a voltage sensor in the charging circuit so that the battery always receives the correct charging current.
