Victron Battery Charger Skylla-i for 24V Batteries

Skylla-i (3): three full-current outputs for charging 3 battery banks.
The Skylla-i (3) features 3 isolated outputs. All outputs can deliver the full rated output current.
The charging voltage can be precisely adjusted to suit any battery system. The charger input is 230 V at 50/60 HZ.
The charging voltage can be measured directly at the battery terminals to compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance. An external sensor enables battery temperature measurement and corresponding compensation of the charging voltage.

Less maintenance and aging when the battery is idle: Storage mode
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has occurred within 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is then reduced to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for a 24 V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates.
Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption voltage threshold to 'refresh' the battery. This achieves a kind of equalization charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation - the two main causes of premature battery failure.

Robust
The epoxy powder-coated aluminum housing with drip shield and stainless steel brackets withstands even the harshest environmental conditions: heat, humidity and salty air. An acrylic coating protects the circuit boards against corrosion as effectively as possible.
Temperature sensors ensure that the power components are always operated within the specified limits. Under extreme environmental conditions, the output current is automatically reduced if necessary.

Preventing damage caused by excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode
To shorten charging time, the highest possible charging current is combined with a high absorption voltage. However, to prevent excessive gassing toward the end of the bulk phase, the Skylla-i limits the rate of voltage increase once the gassing voltage has been reached.

Suitable for lithium-ion batteries (LiFePo4)
A simple on/off control can be implemented by connecting a relay or optocoupler open-collector output from a Li-Ion BMS to the charger's remote control connection.
Alternatively, voltage and current can be fully controlled by establishing a connection to the galvanically isolated CAN bus connection.

Battery voltage sensor
To compensate for voltage losses caused by cable resistance, the Skylla-i has a voltage sensor in the charging circuit so that the battery always receives the correct charging current.

Use as a power supply
Thanks to the perfectly stabilized output voltage, the Skylla-i can be used as a power supply when no batteries or large buffer capacitors are available.
