Safety comes first when using Lifepo4 lithium cells. Due to the composite structure, the cells are thermally and chemically stable and are not deformed, which is why they cannot ignite or explode. Therefore, they are considered the safest and long -lasting lithium cells on the market. They offer the highest reliable cycle numbers, are certainly better for the environment for the user and by giving up cobalt.
Materials newly thought with glass fiber and ceramics
BOS has invested in the development of a special material that enables the battery to resist all kinds of challenges. The housing of the battery consists of recycled materials (i.e. recycled plastic) in combination with a high fiber optic content. In load -bearing parts, this is up to 35 %. The advantages of this material include the low thickness and low weight. The additional ceramic ensures an even heat distribution.

The BOS Battery S has a powerful battery management system (BMS), which monitors the charging cycles and capacity of the battery. The goal is to fully understand each battery and thus avoid problems. The numerous intelligent sensors with which the battery is equipped aim to identify the health status (state of health, Soh) of the battery and to combine the batteries in a matching performance.
Limitless communication
The BOS Battery S offers an unprecedented compatibility with the current communication protocols. By default, the BMS communicates all data points via the BOS bus, a protocol based on canopes and is therefore compatible. Communication with any other protocol is possible via the built-in JAE MX80 connections by simply adding a hidden hardware extension module. Alternatively, communication with other languages and connections such as USB or RJ45 can be carried out with the help of the external BOS Connect products. Communication is already possible with optional configurations for RV-C, Canopen, SFC Canopen, Victron CAN BMS and analog voltage signals. Bluetooth and many more will be possible in the future. This means that the possibilities for deep system integration are almost limitless.
Hybrid technology enables the combination of lithium and lead
The BOS Battery S can be used in combination with lead batteries. The mode of the battery management system can be quickly switched from pure lithium mode to the patented hybrid mode. The default settings determine that the existing lead-acid battery is used in daily operation as a backup current source. In the case of top loads, the intelligent BOS Battery S uses the capacity of lead and lithium battery in hybrid mode to optimize performance.
Basically, the system is designed for 12V. Another charging controller is required to set up systems with tensions of 24V (min. 2 x Battery S) or 48V (min. 4 x Battery S). System voltage must be specified before ordering.
