Description

The Multiplus 12/3000/120-16 from Victron Energy is a combination of a 12V 2400W sine wave inverter and battery charger. The integrated battery charger delivers an impressive 120A, allowing even large batteries to be fully charged quickly when shore/grid power is available. The 12V sine wave voltage converter built into the Multiplus converts your battery power into 230V AC. Thanks to the true sine wave, the power quality is also perfect for sensitive electronic devices. In addition to the two integrated devices, a lightning-fast transfer switch is also installed, which can be used to implement numerous grid-connected solutions. For system integration, a COM port is available in addition to the VE.Bus port, enabling unlimited networking of the Multiplus.

comprehensive and flexible
Because it features an inverter and charger as well as a lightning-fast 16A transfer switch, it's ideal for mobile homes, boats, or yachts, and for grid-connected uninterruptible power supplies in the event of grid fluctuations or power outages. It's also suitable for use in grid-connected self-consumption systems that only draw power from the utility when battery power is no longer sufficient, or as a UPS solution where the Multiplus inverters step in when the grid operator's power suddenly fails, thus ensuring an uninterruptible power supply.

key performance features
2400W continuous power and 6000W peak power, for 12V battery voltage
Device combination of inverter with transfer switch and 120A battery charger
delivers pure 230V sine voltage and a clean 50Hz frequency
VE.Bus communication port provides extensive networking, system integration, configuration and control options for Victron Multiplus devices.
supports three-phase operation (3 identical units of the same model required)
Multiplus devices can be connected in parallel, up to 6 devices can be connected in parallel and the system performance can thus be significantly increased if necessary
2 AC outputs from Multiplus 3000 and larger. The second output can be used to connect devices that should only run when mains power is available.
From the Multiplus 3000 onwards, a COM port is available in addition to the VE.Bus port, meaning that there are virtually no limits to system integration
PowerControl function enables working with limited generator power as well as limited shore or mains power
PowerAssist function enables “power boost” of generators and shore connection support when needed
Can be used as a UPS solution for uninterruptible power supply, thanks to the integrated transfer switch with 16A or 50A
Can be used for grid-connected self-consumption systems that only draw power from the grid operator when the battery capacity is no longer sufficient or other programmable events have occurred
Compatible with numerous Victron control and display panels
Three-phase operation possible with identical MultiPlus inverters

massive performance expansion possible

In addition to parallel connection, three units of the same model can also be configured for a three-phase output. But that's not all: Up to six sets of three units can be connected in parallel to achieve a massive 75 kW / 90 kVA inverter and over 2,000 A charging capacity (based on the 5000 version).

PowerControl – Working with limited generator power, restricted shore or grid power
The MultiPlus is a very powerful battery charger. Therefore, it draws a lot of current from the generator or shore power supply (almost 10A per 5kVA Multi at 230 VAC). The MultiControl remote control panel allows you to set the maximum mains or generator current to be drawn. The MultiPlus then takes other connected AC devices into account and uses only the remaining power for charging. This prevents the generator or shore power connection from being overloaded.

PowerAssist – “Power enhancement” of generators and shore connection support
This function adds a new dimension to the PowerControl principle. It allows the MultiPlus to support underpowered alternative sources. Load peaks often occur only for a limited period of time. In such a case, the MultiPlus ensures that insufficient shore power or generator power is immediately compensated for with energy from the battery.

BackUp system : alternating current even in case of power failure
The Multiplus can be used with both off-grid and grid-connected PV systems, as well as other alternative energy systems. Software for grid failure detection is available.

simple system configuration
If settings on an individual device need to be changed, this can be done within a few minutes using a DIP switch setting procedure.
Parallel and three-phase systems can be configured using the VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.

On-site monitoring and control options
Several options are available: Battery monitor, Multi Control Panel, Ve.Net Blue Power Panel, Color Control Panel, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232).

Remote monitoring and control
Victron Ethernet Remote, Victron Global Remote, and the Color Control Panel enable remote maintenance and monitoring of the MultiPlus. System data can also be stored and viewed free of charge on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.

Remote configuration
If systems with a Color Control Panel are connected to the Ethernet, they can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
