Astronomical navigation is likely to be the oldest method of determining the position without reference points on land. Impressive processes and precise devices have been developed over the centuries, with the sextant or mirror textant being the last mechanical instrument that is still used today. In astronavigation, the sextant measures the vertical angle between a celestial body and the horizon. It can also be used horizontally for coastal navigation, for example to determine the distance between different landmarks. In modern drum textants, the micrometer drum represents the latest refinement. With this drum attachment, the angles can be easily read in degrees, minutes and tenth minutes. Older sextants, on the other hand, are equipped with a reasoning, a so -called auxiliary arch. In our range we offer exercise texts made of plastic, light yacht extremes made of aluminum, high-quality half-view and full view, as well as accessories such as sextant lighting and artificial horizon, which are specially designed for professional shipping.
