The thermostat-controlled compact cooling units are based on a Danfoss compressor that cools a capacitor in the cooling or freezer box. Danfoss compressors are very efficient. Hermetically sealed, they work in a mixture of oil and coolant, which contributes to very calm running behavior and very little wear. Like all efficient electrical devices, the compressors used by Indel Webasto Marine work with a 3-phase system. The 3-phase voltage is generated in a small microprocessor. The device is designed for a temperature range from + 2 ° C to - 18 ° C.
Indel Webasto Marine has succeeded in integrating different functions into this “computer” that control and monitor the device. This allows low power consumption. The same processor is used in the 12 V and 24 V systems and is protected against unwanted reversal. A air is guided by the capacitor using a fan. This is the traditional type of cooling. It must be ensured that cold air can be added from below and warm air can escape upwards.
